What Can You Discover at Science Camp?
Science comes in many forms, and no single camp covers every field. Programs may focus on one subject, combine several disciplines, or introduce younger campers to an exciting variety of experiments and investigations.
Chemistry, Physics & Hands-On Experiments
Explore chemical reactions, motion, light, energy, forces, materials, and the fun of testing an idea. Activities may range from beginner-friendly demonstrations to more advanced laboratory work.
Biology, Animals & Life Sciences
Discover plants, animals, ecology, anatomy, genetics, microbiology, and other living systems through observation, specimens, microscopes, and practical investigations where offered.
Environmental, Earth & Marine Science
Study ecosystems, forests, streams, oceans, geology, fossils, weather, and conservation. Some camps take scientific exploration outdoors for field observations, habitat studies, and nature-based projects.
Astronomy, Space & Scientific Exploration
Discover planets, stars, telescopes, space science, and the scientific questions that inspire exploration beyond Earth. Program topics and equipment vary.
Engineering, Invention & Applied Science
Use scientific principles to design, build, test, and improve ideas. Engineering and robotics may appear alongside physics, experimentation, and broader STEM activities, with an intentional crossover into technology programs.
Where Science Meets Summer Adventure
A great science camp can feel like a laboratory, an expedition, an observatory, and a team challenge, sometimes all in the same week. Campers might investigate a mystery, work through a problem together, observe something unfamiliar, or discover a new subject they want to keep exploring long after summer ends.
The right level of instruction matters. Some programs introduce scientific ideas through playful experimentation; others offer deeper study for teens who already have a particular interest. Look at the actual activities, ages, staff experience, facilities, hands-on opportunities, safety practices, and daily schedule to find the right fit.
How to Choose the Best Science Camp
