BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: SOCAPA, the School of Creative and Performing Arts, offers summer intensives in filmmaking, photography, acting, dance, and music. CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:

CAMP LOCATION: Our programs in New York City are located in Downtown Brooklyn and in Manhattan's Financial District, at either side of the Brooklyn Bridge. Our Los Angeles programs are hosted at Occidental College, located in the Eagle Rock neighborhood in Northeast Los Angeles, across Griffith Park from Studio City. SOCAPA Vermont is hosted in downtown Burlington, Vt - overlooking Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains. Campus is just a 5 minute walk from the main art, cultural, and commercial center of the city - Church Street, a pedestrian market place. CAMP FACILITIES: SOCAPA hosts its programs at NYU-Poly in Downtown Brooklyn and at Pace University in lower Manhattan, at Occidental College in Los Angeles, and at Champlain College in Burlington, VT. We have state of the art classrooms and facilities at each campus. The accommodations range from modern suite living in New York City to more traditional dorms in Los Angeles and Vermont. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Filmmaking: Students write, direct, and edit one film per week of attendance in our core filmmaking program. Our 3 week Advanced Program provides students more time to produce two longer projects and our Advanced Projects intensive dedicates the entire time to one project. Screenwriting, pre-production, producing, directing, camera techniques, and editing (Adobe Premiere) skills are all taught. Our Cinematography program delves into lighting, shot composition and offers hands-on experience with professional equipment. The Film Production Lab gives students the chance to be part of making a film from scratch without the pressure of doing it all - either 2 or 3 weeks are dedicated to writing, producing, and editing one film as a group.
Acting for Film: Students are introduced to the Method and Meisner techniques and able to immediately put their new skills to work in student films. Actors work with photographers in the studio to get their head shots; work on monologue and audition techniques; scene study; and an acting reel (3 week program only).
Dance: HipHop and Contemporary: Technique, conditioning, choreography, costuming, and performance! Students learn and perform one piece of choreography in the two week program. They film a dance video as well as perform live at the end of the session. Three week students do two pieces - both dance videos and live performances. Advanced dancers can join for our 3 week Dance Conservatory program and focus the last week on choreographing a solo which will be shot and edited - great for auditions or applications!
Photography: Digital and traditional 35mm programs offered: History of photography, Aesthetics, camera techniques, Photoshop, Lightroom, studio and natural lighting, night photo, portraits, street photography, commercial photography, portfolio development, photo safaris and more!
Music: Singer/Songwriter program: With coaching in melody, harmony, arranging, lyric writing, and stage presence, students refine an original song per week of attendance, which they record at a professional recording studio. Students work with the film students for a music video (3 week program).
Screenwriting: Hone your skills in an intensive screenwriting course over one, two, or three weeks. Work closely with other writers and benefit from regular feedback and critique from your peers and instructor as you work on the first act of a feature or the script for a short film. Students spend time analyzing what works in existing films and will come away from the program with a stronger voice and new tools to use in future projects.

OTHER CAMP INFO: SOCAPA appreciates each of our unique locations and works hard to take advantage of their offerings. We take trips around town almost nightly and enjoy concerts in the park, attend shows, spend time at the beach, join a street fair and much more! We also put together camp activities on campus. CAMP FACILITIES: 24-hour health center, seven resident buildings, a library, computer lab, heated swimming pool, oceanfront recreation center, weight room, gymnasium, chapel, bookstore, canteen, campus store, athletic fields, dining services, and fully equipped classrooms and dormitories. Security and medical personnel are on campus twenty-four hours a day.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Army and Navy Academy's Summer programs are designed to enrich each participant's character through academic pursuits, recreational activities, and leadership training. Students have the benefit of participating in afternoon activities, and weekend excursions.
Camp Challenge (Leadership Development Courses):
1. Camp Challenge Four-Week JROTC Leadership Development Program.
This camp is the only credit-producing Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) summer leadership course west of the Mississippi. The course is open to both male and female high school students (entering Grades 9 through 12.) The course consists of a combination of classroom work combined with adventure training activities and will reward successful participants with 180 hours of Leadership Education and Training (LET) Credit.
During the course, participants will develop self-confidence as leaders and as active team members as well as enhance his/her Core Values; Honor, Integrity, Responsibility, Loyalty, and Selfless Service. Additionally, this course is designed to add “Leadership” to Resumes and College Applications.
2. Camp Challenge Two-Week High School Leadership Education and Training.
This two-week leadership camp is designed for both male and female students (entering Grades 9 through 12) who are unable to attend the four-week JROTC Course but who are still interested in achieving a leadership training experience. Camper will choose one of the following electives for their focus: Leadership, Aviation,Computer Science, or ESOL.
3. Camp Challenge Two-Week Middle School Leadership Development Programs (LDP), Basic and Advanced.
LDP Basic is an introduction to leadership for students interested in exploring potential and enhancing existing skills while learning the fundamentals of citizenship. Campers gain invaluable life skills through fun activities and adventure based challenges that reinforce teamwork, accountability, discipline, and respect.
LDP Advanced can be taken after completion of LDP Basic and offers an advanced curriculum in leadership combined with an introduction to subjects that will help prepare campers for high school. This course focuses on the core values of responsibility , loyalty, and selfless service.
4. Camp Challenge Four-Week Middle School Leadership Development Program.
For families interested in the opportunity to have their campers complete basic and advanced courses in one summer.

With a focus on mission of motivating young people to be better citizens, the core leadership element of Camp Challenge focuses on the development of communication and cooperative skills, with the enhancement of personal strengths and self-confidence.
Computer Science:
This is an introduction to computer science emphasizing project based learning and scientific problem-solving. This elective reinforces the scientific process and promotes the appropriate use of technology in today's society while providing participants an opportunity to build websites and program video games.
Aviation:
Aviation science presents an introduction to aeronautics through in-class discussions and project-based learning, covering: principles of flight, aircraft anatomy, space travel, remotely-piloted aircraft systems, and how to earn drone, glider and private pilot licenses.
ESOL: English for Speakers of Other Languages
ESOL involves engaging content which promotes active listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, using a variety of instructional mediums and technological support.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: At MehtA+, we ignite student passion for engineering. Our offerings are catered towards students from Kindergarten to College Freshman and involve a fusion of the humanities and the sciences. We believe the best way to learn something is to apply it and as such, all of our opportunities are application-based.
Our bootcamps give students an in-depth opportunity to learn concepts that are normally taught at the university level, while our workshops serve as a fantastic introduction to a new subject. In order to make engineering education more accessible, our digital kits are always free to everyone and allow students to create something awesome. Volunteerships are offered to former students who are looking to volunteer their time and apply what they have learned for social good, as they intern for one of our clients.
Our college preparatory services, which involve subject tutoring, standardized test preparation and college consulting, provide students the resources they need to be ready for college.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Education Encounters camps are fun camps that foster a child’s love of learning. Based around history themes, these small thematic camps make history come alive by integrating history with science and art. Depending on the week, the children will hear myths, make "cat mummies", design shields, explore printmaking, fire catapults, build structures, or go on a field trip to the Egyptian Museum.

CAMP FACILITIES: Campers sleep in cabins (or if they are really lucky teepees) with a staff member in each cabin or teepee. Cabins/teepees have six bunk beds and are solid wood structures with canvas flaps covering the windows and the door. Each tribe has a set of brand new bathrooms with individual restrooms and showers.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: For over 80 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco has been providing this creative, fun and supportive camping experience for youth ages eight to 18. We surround our kids with positive role models 24-hours a day to provide the love and encouragement they need to realize their full potential.
Located in a 2,000 acre beautiful redwood forest three and half hours north of San Francisco, Camp Mendocino offers programs that are clearly unique to those offered at our nine Clubhouses in San Francisco. CAMP FACILITIES: Camp Wamp is a sleep away camp where kids camp out under the stars every night. There is a lake, a rock wall, recreation /dining hall and, the most trees you've ever seen covering many acres of forest.

Campers enjoy a variety of outdoor activities including; fishing, canoeing, singing around the camp fire, hiking, making new friends, participating in survival challenges, and much more.
All Camp Wamp sessions offer STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) experiences. STEAM will be introduced in an outdoor classroom setting where professionals introduce STEAM throughout the week at camp. STEAM is geared towards problem solving specific to the disabilities of each child.
Camp Wamp’s survival challenges encourage teamwork, self education, and fosters goal setting. We believe being a part of a team is one way to enjoy adventures that the wilderness of the High Sierra’s has to offer. Nature is our living classroom, and the more children are exposed to elements, the more they tend to appreciate the natural environment.

OTHER CAMP INFO: The Stephen J Wampler Foundation incorporated in October 2001, becoming a fully recognized tax-exempt non-profit 501(c) 3 organization in March of 2002 (Tax ID number #80-0470847). Our outdoor programs started in August of 2004 when we welcomed our first 24 campers. The organization has grown over the past 17 years, and we have sponsored 1250 children.
Camp Wamp, located near North Lake Tahoe in the High Sierras, is a place where kids with physical challenges have the week of their life in the great outdoors. The kids of Camp Wamp leave the experience having learned to face life with a new sense of self-reliance, ambition, optimism and adventure. Most of these kids are also quick to say that Camp Wamp was the, “Best Week Ever”!.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: With over 30 years of experience, the Phoenix Ranch prides itself in presenting an outstanding summer camp program that reflects our commitment to excellent supervision and quality programming.
We are accredited by the American Camp Association, a national accrediting agency that supports high quality standards for site, supervision, and programming. Our campus is very safe with a trained security guard on campus at all times, and CCTV monitoring. The Phoenix Ranch Staff (18 years of age or older) will undergo over 30 hours of pre-camp and in-service training. CAMP FACILITIES: River Way Ranch Camp operates as a resort 9 months out of the year when camp is not in session. Campers stay in air-conditioned cabins, and sleep 8 to a room, with two counselors. Cabins are complete with a private bathroom and shower, closest and sink area. River Way Ranch Camp is a beautiful facility, complete with stables, basketball and tennis courts, three pools, an on-site lake, and a high and low ropes course facility.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: River Way campers are divided into divisions. The Buckaroos (ages 7-9) have two counselors with each cabin group at all times. They receive a challenging diversified schedule, teaching them many new skills. Beginning at age 10, Rancheros and Seniors have free choices of activity. Transportation is available by charter bus from Southern and Northern California, as well as airport transportation from Fresno International Airport (FAT).

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Students will be introduced to a simple engineering process based on these five steps: Imagine, Plan, Create, Improve, and Ask. Students not only learn science principles, but they will create robots that move objects, find their own way around obstacles, play soccer, respond to light or motion, navigate through a maze, and even challenge other robots. Working in pairs, students will start with simple structures and then begin to make a robot through intermediate levels of construction, proper use of blocks, motors, mainboard, IR sensors and remote control.
Student�s imaginations will soar as they discover the endless possibilities. This summer program will culminate with their own designed robot for presentation.

Robot Edutainment is looking for Moms, Students, Recent Graduates, and Any Individual interested in teaching STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education in after-school programs in the Los Angeles area.
Teachers will be using robot kits to teach children in grades 3 - 6 how to assemble structures, introduction in electronics, and programming the robots in a curriculum designed to immerse children in concepts of mathematics, science, and engineering.
We surround you with a network of like-minded individuals to share ideas and a population of kids who are eager to learn from you. We also provide initial training on both how to instruct and Robotics, Computers and GUI Programming.
Instructors generally teach classes Monday through Friday from 9 am to 6:00 pm or Saturday from 9 AM to 4:00 PM. We offer flexible hours-even 2 hrs/week is available!
Excellent opportunity for students, recent graduates, and moms to reinforce technical and creative skills while having a fun teaching experience at one of our great learning centers.
We provide competitive rates, individual must have a car, be drug free and willing to submit to a background check (require for TB Tests & Finger Prints).
Ideal Applicant for teaching will have one or more of the following qualities:

CAMP FACILITIES: Mariposa Day Camp, located in Altadena, offers themed weeks with several different emphases for girls to choose from. Girls participate in new and traditional Girl Scouts activities while making new friends, developing self-esteem and making lasting memories. Introducing new and exciting activities this summer such as a brand new gaga court, low ropes and team building activities plus kids kitchen which gives each girl the opportunity to prepare a fun and different snack each week. The themes for each week provide additional activities and enjoyment for the campers. All day camps include daily snacks, a camp souvenir, any badges earned, and a 4X6 camp group photo. It is Fashion Week at Camp Mariposa! Campers will learn the basics of fashion design, sewing, and jewelry making as they create their own haute couture. Let’s journey back in time to when Laura Ingalls Wilder was a young girl. Campers will learn all about life on the prairie through hands on activities like making butter, sewing, and playing games from the past. Brownies will earn their Celebrating Community badge, Juniors will earn their Citizen badge, and Cadettes will earn their Finding Common Ground badge. CAMP FACILITIES: We have 3000 square feet of padded floor for indoor games and sports, as well as an Air Conditioned "Chill Zone" for the kids to cool off and play board games and eat snacks on hot days.
